Dior Jelly Lip Pens

As part of its Birds of Paradise collection, Dior launched a new product for lips, the Jelly Lip Pen. Available in four shades with names inspired by Brazil, they are described by the company as “a moisturising balm formula that combines pure colour, ultra-shine and lipcare in an intuitive applicator”.

The shades are Copacabana, a browny-beige; Gaia, a true rose; Carioca, a peachy coral; and Ilhabela, a girly pink. I am biased and had to buy Carioca as that is what natives of Rio de Janeiro are called, and that’s where I come from! :-)

These swatches were photographed with my phone in a badly-lit duty-free shop, so I apologise in advance for the quality. The colours are portrayed in the order above, from left to right. The first pic shows the colours in direct light and in the second you can see the glittery particles better. Click on the images for larger versions!

Hey, is this just one swipe of the pencil? They are pretty, but I wonder if they would have enough pigmentation to show up on pigmented lips. Are they jelly/super-shiny finish?

The finish is very jelly-ish but the effects are that of a balm, if you know what I mean. They are on the sheer side so I’d suggest testing them first if you have pigmented lips! x
