Happy New Year! After a much-needed break and a backlog of pictures to upload, I decided to be more assiduous in 2014 and will begin with an unusual purchase – the Barry M Natural Glow Shadow & Blush Palette.
I’ve never purchased Barry M makeup products before but have heard great things about selected products (especially the nail polish). I had also never seen this palette in-store, but while browsing on ASOS.com I spotted it on sale for a mere £5, so thought I might try it out (for science!).
Fortunately, I wasn’t disappointed. The palette includes six eyeshadow shades (two matte and four pearly ones) and a matte blush. As the name indicates, the eyeshadows are all fairly neutral colours: a mauve-y pink (P), a pale cream (M), a warm beige (M), a lovely taupe (P), a bronzey-gold (P) and a brown (P). The blush is a pale pink shade.
The matte (M) shades are a bit powdery and crumbly, but the texture of the pearly (P) colours is surprisingly good. They are all decently pigmented and the brush is alright, but not brilliant. Either way, for a fiver this is a decent addition to most people’s basic stash.
All pics were taken in natural light on a gloomy day – it never seems to stop raining for long in London these days!
I also took close-up shots to show the colours a bit more clearly.
