I have stopped posted mobile-only swatches here for a reason but unfortunately I can’t afford to buy every single product I post about on the blog, which means every now and again poorer quality swatches will show up here – I apologise for that in advance as this is one of these cases.
When travelling this week I bought at the airport one of the five new Chanel Stylo Eyeshadows launched for summer 2015 – I opted for Laurier Rose as it was quite a unique colour in my humble opinion, but I managed to swatch all five for reference. I didn’t, however, take a pic of the display, which is why I’m using a promo photo to showcase the actual products.
The five new Stylo Eyeshadow sticks are, in the order above, Campanule (107), a light purple shade; Azulejo (117), a nice Cerulean blue – “azulejo” happens to mean “glazed tile” in Portuguese, which I found quite appropriate as the traditional azulejos in Portugal are blue; Laurier Rose (127), a lovely peachy-pink shade; Olivine (137), a greyed olive green; and Caroube (147), a warm medium brown.
All five have sparkly particles in the formula, some more evident than others. I swatches them in the following order: Laurier Rose, Caroube, Azulejo, Campanule and Olivine. In-store lighting wasn’t particularly flattering but you get the idea.
All five are limited edition and set quite fast, so don’t seem ideal for a lot of blending. They’re creamy and feel refreshing when applied, a characteristic of this Chanel formula.
Conclusion: pretty colours, nice texture, and a good deal in duty free (£19.10 against £23 in London’s shops).
